What is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT is a treatment that has been shown to be effective for a range of problems, especially for anxiety disorders and depression. CBT is an effective and goal based therapy that takes a hands-on approach, involves problem solving and learning specific techniques to help you with your struggles. CBT focuses on the thoughts, images, beliefs and attitudes that are held (the "C" for cognitive) and how these relate to how a person behaves (the "B" for behavioral).

What is Exposure and Response Prevention?

Exposure and Response Prevention is  the 'gold standard' of treatment for OCD and anxiety disorders. Exposure therapy is a type of CBT where you learn how to face and manage your fears and to reduce behaviors that feel good in the moment, but can actually increase anxiety in the long-term.
