Panic attacks can be frightening to experience and can feel like a burst of anxiety and fear that reaches a peak within minutes. Here are some symptoms from the ADAA website

  • Palpitations, pounding heart, accelerated heart rate

  • Sweating

  • Trembling or shaking

  • Shortness of breath

  • Feelings of choking

  • Chest pain or discomfort

  • Nausea or abdominal distress

  • Feeling dizzy, unsteady, light-headed or faint

  • Chills or heat sensations

  • Numbness or tingling sensations

  • Feelings of unreality or feeling detached to oneself

  • Fear of losing control or "going crazy"

  • Fear of dying 

Phobias are when you experience anxiety and fear over a specific thing such as heights, closed or open spaces, leaving the house, health related and fear of driving, to name a few. Phobias can impact your life greatly by avoiding the things that trigger the anxiety.
