ANXIETY, STRESS AND WORRY

Everyone experiences anxiety at some point in their lives. It's a normal and healthy emotion. It's actually our body's way of telling us that there's a threat that we need to pay attention to. However, sometimes anxiety symptoms can become overwhelming and start to impact your life. Often with anxiety disorders there is not a real threat, but our body is responding like there is. Anxiety can be experienced in a variety of situations including in social situations (Social Anxiety Disorder) and chronic worry about a variety of topics (Generalized Anxiety Disorder).

Treatment for general and social anxiety, stress and chronic worry include cognitive techniques which include examining how negative thoughts, or cognitions, contribute to anxiety. It also includes behavioral therapy which examines how you behave and react in situations that trigger anxiety.
